Teaching Latin American Music

In this page I share resources on teaching Latin American Popular Music, mainly as a music appreciation course in higher education, based on a conference presentation delivered on June 5, 2026 at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami for the conference of the Association of Popular Music Educators. I’ll be adding more resources in the future, so please save/bookmark and come back!

Zotero Bibliography on Latin American Music this Zotero collection is the result of collaborative work with colleagues Mark Lomanno and Sergio Ospina Romero. The folders on Textbooks & Dictionaries and Encyclopedias would be a great starting point. We’ll be creating more sub-categories and collections to help navigate the library, and add more sources as new publications are released.
